If there is one thing that the last few months have taught me, it’s that its okay and sometimes absolutely necessary to slow down. There is a lot of pressure on us as humans to be our best, most productive selves 24/7. However, it could be argued that slowing down and taking some time out is important for us in reaching our full potential.
Treat yourself as you would treat a good friend

Here are some tips I’ve gathered, with activities and ideas for you to include in your schedule if you feel you need a break:
Schedule in ‘free time’
This might be a good place to start if you’ve got a big to-do list. This will ensure that you’ve got some time for yourself
Turn off your phone/ notifications
Keeping up with social media and the news can be hard work, so stepping away from this for a while can be a break in itself
Get outside
If you can, this can really help. Getting outside just for a little bit can provide stress relief and a chance to reconnect with the present
Meditate
This has been recommended all over the world and there are lots of free resources for this online!
Read/ listen to audio books
Reading an actual book might not be your cup of tea, especially if you’ve been reading at work or studying. Audio books are a great alternative, giving your eyes a break from focussing
Find your hobby
Baking, gardening, painting… there is so much to choose from. Hobbies can be neglected when life gets in the way, so now might be the perfect time to find what you love doing
